2011 Summer Fete

THANK YOU!

For those of you who were not able to make it on Saturday 2nd July, the St Edward's Primary School Summer Fete was a great success! The weather was perfect - not too hot, not too cold.

All the usual stalls were there, together with a bouncy castle courtesy of the YMCA. We also had an abundance of cups and plates this year for the 'Smash the Crockery' stall. This was donated by the local Cancer Research shop.

There was a full programme of arena events fro St Edwards School groups and from clubs taking place outside of the school. These included; the St Edward's Senior School Jazz Band, the Years 2&3 May Pole Dance Club, Starshine Dance Troupe, Dancing Queen and the St Edward's Community Choir. Well done and thanks to all those that took part and organised these events.

There were also a number of competitions. Well done to all those who took part! The winners of the Grand Prize Draw were; 1st Prize Nintendo 3DS - Susan Oguibe, 2nd Prize Flat Screen TV - Bill Franks and 3rd Prize Luxury Summer Hamper - Andrea Roberts.

This years Programme was also a great success. We are fortunate to have such a high quality product printed for us free of charge courtesy of SD Samuels. A big thank you to them. Thank you to all those that placed adverts, we do hope you get lots of new business! I'm not sure we will always be able to ensure it's a colour programme of such outstanding quality, but here's hoping. If that's something your company could help with please let a member of the fete committee know.

The fete committee would also like to give a huge thank you to all the friends, teachers, families and organisations that participated and helped with the preparation and running of the Fete. A special thank you to those that volunteered on the day, as we were desperately short of help and very nearly had to close stalls. Another big thanks to all that came to the Fete. It's great to see so many of you supporting the school, and without your money and support it would not be possible to fund so much.

We really do appreciate all the help we receive and a special mention to all those selfless donations from parents and organisations, including all the donations for the new goods stall, cakes and all of those wonderful rainbow tombola prizes.

We are still counting the pennies but it looks like we had an exceptionally good year raising a massive £7,000 meaning a profit of over £5,000. Wow! This really is exceptional and really makes all the work worthwhile.

Don't forget that all of this money goes towards projects that would otherwise not receive funding, which benefits all our children and the school. Your help and support means a lot. Without funding the school we wouldn't benefit from the new lower school play equipment, interactive table, nursery climbing frame, fish pond, PE equipment, new books, assortment of learning tools, Gazebos, Maypole, Margaret Groves memorial garden redesign, keyboards, cheerleading, gardening equipment and lots more.
